You definitely need to be an outgoing and friendly type of person who likes to help others. You should feel comfortable communicating with customers in a chat-like environment.
Online chat agents should be able to type at least 50 wpm. You will also need to be able to handle multiple chats at the same time.
You will need to be able to resource product information for online customers by using the tools provided by the company. It will be important that you can feel comfortable while quickly accessing information for customers and researching information via the Internet.
