A little home business idea that has made this stay at home mom a true mompreneur!
Kristen Horler wanted to stay at home after the birth of her first baby in 2001. She also wanted to lose the baby weight gained during pregnancy. Both of those needs led Kristen to start her own business, Baby Boot Camp.
Drawing from her experience as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, triathlete and mother, she developed Baby Boot Camp to balance the fitness needs of new moms with their desire to spend time with their baby.
Horler wanted to create a fitness program for new mothers that did not want to pay for babysitters for their babies while they worked out. The Baby Boot Camp work is a stroller based work out that allows moms to exercise without the added expense of a babysitter or daycare. And when her idea became a successful business, Horler helped other women start their own business.
Horler began helping women start Baby Boot Camps in their own hometowns, and now the chain has grown to 140 franchise locations across the country. She credits her success to low franchise fees of less than $3,000 and no facility requirements, since most classes are held in parks.
Today, Baby Boot Camp classes are available across the U.S., Canada and Australia. Franchise opportunities are available throughout the U.S. and abroad.
