Calling all mommies at home that have that hidden desire to write books for children: Cheerios is searching for the next great children’s book author. It could be you!
They are looking for aspiring authors to write and submit an original story for a book for children ages 3 to 8. Professional writers, or those with published work, are not allowed to enter. This contest is all about those of us that have ideas for children stories, but have not actually done much about it, except maybe daydream!
To enter, you need to be 18 or older, and a legal resident of the United States. Your Story must be 500 words or less, submitted in readable font (e.g.Times New Roman or Arial) in the English or Spanish language. Please note, stories submitted in Spanish will be judged in Spanish. Stories are submitted online, and the deadline for entries is July 15, 2011.
One (1) Grand Prize of $5000 cash will be awarded. In addition to the cash prize, the Grand Prize winning story submission will be offered to Simon & Schuster, Inc. for possible future publication.
Two (2) First Runner-Up Prizes of $1000 each will be awarded. Plus, their stories will will appear on www.SpoonfulsofStories.com.
