When you work from home as a reservation agent for U-Haul, you will be paid an hourly wage and even better, you will be eligible to receive benefits when you are hired as a permanent employee.
Home-based reservation agents receive inbound calls from customers. You will schedule reservations for U-Haul trailers and trucks, answer rental questions, and generally assist customers with their storage/moving needs.
Payment Details
You are paid an hourly rate that U-Haul says is ‘competitive’ and based on minimum wages, and in the area of $12/hour ( this comes from my researching reviews of U-Haul WAH jobs, and is of course subject to change by U-Haul. Always be sure to get exact payment terms before accepting a job offer.) Bonuses are offered after training and for meeting certain reservation quotas, I believe.
Applicant Requirements:
Must be 16 years or older
High School Diploma or GED Or Currently Enrolled in High School
Technical Requirements
- Computer with Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 (not compatible with MAC )
- Hard-Wired Broadband or High Speed Internet Connection.
- USB headset
- VOIP
There is a computer speed test available when you begin the application process, to help determine if your computer meets the upload/download speed requirements.
U-Haul offers paid training that you complete virtually from home. The expected schedule for training is-
- Week 0—Orientation and downloading required programs
- Week 1—Self-paced training program and web-based seminars
- Week 2—Web-based seminars and one-on-four, hands on training
- Week 3—On the phone on your own but shadowed by our training department
- Week 4—On the job training
- A bonus will be awarded after the successful completion of each of the initial full four weeks of employment
