If you consider yourself to be a pretty good typist, you can make money from home typing non-medical transcriptions for SpeakWrite. You will work one-hour shifts typing out audio transcriptions. The better your typing, the more you can earn, with the fastest typists earning $15 or more per hour.
There is a required minimum typing speed of 65 wpm – part of your application process will include a typing test. You may take this test more than once if you do not achieve the required speed.
After the testing is completed, you will continue filling out your application form. Once it has been submitted and approved, you will begin the online training which will include more testing as you go along.
Typists earn ½ cent per word transcribed. Generally you can expect to earn $12-$15 per hour once you become more familiar with their system. There are no caps on the amount you can earn, so the faster and more efficiently you can complete the work and the more hours you schedule, the more you can make. Payment is made via check or direct deposit twice a month, shortly after the 1st and the 15th.
Along with an Internet connection and computer, you will need to have a foot pedal for this job – which will generally cost about $75.
