What Is This Job About?
Working from home, you will conduct phone interviews to collect data for science research done by Westat.. You will be asking questions on a variety of subjects, such as education, the environment, health, and transportation.
How Many Hours Will I Work?
Anyone hired must be able to work 15- 40 hours per week during the following times:
• Monday – Friday 6PM to 10PM, Eastern time;
• Saturday 10AM to 6PM, Eastern time; and
• Sunday 2PM to 10PM, Eastern time.
You will generally work on a project by project basis. While your hours and projects are not guaranteed, it appears that once you are hired, you are usually able to complete one project and move on to another project fairly consistently.
How Much Does Westat Pay?
Westat pays $8.25 per hour for English only speaking phone interviewers, and they pay $10.25/hr for bilingual (Spanish and English) phone interviewers. Benefits include group insurance, leave pay, and a 401K,
Paid training is provided and the company does not require previous experience (although if you do have prior experience conducting phone interviews it will be considered a plus.)
What Are The Applicant Requirements?
You will need high speed internet, a landline phone and headset. You will also need to have a fingerprint check as well as a criminal background check done. I believe you will pay for the background check and then be reimbursed for it when hired.
Applicants must be 18 or older to apply, will need to provide a voice sample, and have a noise-free office space to conduct the surveys. You will also need a web camera with video and audio functionality be able to obtain a Skype account, and be able to be on the Internet (cable or DSL) and on a landline (corded) telephone at the same time.
