Buddy TV is looking for freelance TV writers to cover shows and TV news. These are work-at-home, freelance positions. Hours may vary depending on the volume of pre-assigned shows, but you can potentially publish up to 20-30 pieces per week. There may also be unscheduled writing deadlines that come up every so often that you will need to meet.
Job Duties For Freelance TV Writers
Basically you will watch and write about TV! You should be someone who really loves and knows all about their favorite TV shows.
You will be up-to-date for your assigned shows and be able to watch episodes of your assigned shows when they air.
Writers will be responsible for writing, editing, and publishing great content quickly while actively looking for news, updates, and other publishing opportunities for your shows.
Writer Requirements
- You will need to either live on the east coast or have access to a reliable east coast broadcast feed.
- Excellent headline-writing skills are critical and a carefully considered component of all applications
- Strong writing skills and experience
- Ability to watch TV, write, self-edit, and publish error-free content on fast-paced deadlines
- Super strong knowledge of popular TV shows, entertainment news, and pop-culture news
- Previous experience writing content for the internet and driving pageview traffic
- Knowledge of standard journalistic style conventions
- Solid understanding of content promotion via social media platforms
- Basic-level knowledge of HTML coding preferred
